deep talks & throwing rocks (off a CLIFF)

In 2014, I had my fair share of fairy-tale moments that were filled with sparkles and magic. But as it goes in fairy tales, magic doesn't last forever and a villain is inevitable. As this year came to an end, I didn't want my villains to haunt me any longer, They were all things I was meant to learn from, but not meant to hold on to. It was time to let go.
As New Years Eve approached and I waited for the clock to strike midnight I wasn't alone. My best friend Aryn and I huddled on my bed working on a little project that I made up one day while daydreaming.

We had a beautiful night, and I am here to document it. I figure what better way is there to document a story than in FAIRY-TALE FORM?
So here it is, our New Years Eve fairy tale:

Once upon a time,

armed with sharpies and good intentions, two best friends were hard at work to create something magical. With the right mood lighting and uplifting music, they made a list of their struggles from the year before and sorted them into three categories.
boys // things that suck // bad feelings
They scribbled their struggles onto the rocks and piled them in the jars. The rocks represented burdens that they were LEAVING IN 2014. FOREVER AND EVER.
When they were ready they got into the car and drove up a hill (to the very top). When they got there, they turned on the happiest music imaginable. They picked up the rocks AND THEY THREW THEM OFF A CLIFF AS HARD AS THEY COULD.

....It honestly felt so good. Aryn and I have spent numerous nights in that same spot overlooking the city in my parked car, deep-talking about how in the world we would make it through the hard things we were going through. Now that the year was over, it was so enlightening to stand in that same spot and not only see what we had overcome, but also to be able to "throw it away forever".

To me, there is nothing more rewarding than looking back and seeing how you've grown through diversity. So even if just for a night, we lived happily ever after.
xoxo,
Hallie Jo

(We also made a VIDEO of our night which is 100x better than this blog post if you wanna check it out:)
