Something magical happens every time Aryn, Serena and I are together; everything seems to go perfectly right. Ever since we've become best friends three years ago it's been this way.
We NEVER make plans. If one of us tries, the other two laugh in their face. We don't do "planning".
I wanted to make a blog post about this weekend because it felt exceptionally perfect.
But who am I kidding? I say that every time.
FRIDAY NIGHT:
we all meet at Aryn & Serena's house (3 girls // 4 boys // 8 ukuleles)
we sit around until we're hungry and decide to go get food. as we walk out the door, serena makes the comment "once time I watched fireworks on the roof". ten minutes later 7 kids and 3 ukuleles are on the roof, looking at the stars and laughing.

eventually we get cold and we load into the mini van to go get some ice cream. (makes sense...right?)
the rest of our night is filled with creepy night hiking through the forest, swinging at the park, car dancing, trampoline & blanket snuggling and happiness.
the boys leave and Aryn and Serena and I talk for a while before collapsing on the couch.
goodnight.
SATURDAY MORNING:
(this is where the magic begins)
we wake up and head to a coffee shop for
breakfast. at breakfast we happen to run into one of our really good friends we haven't seen in forever. also, we saw a really cute dog in the parking lot and named him Max.
oh and btw all of our outfits fit our personalities perfectly so that is always a good time.
after breakfast we decide we feel like walking around downtown so we park and start walking.
we end up going to a bookstore & then another coffee shop.

at the coffee shop Aryn offers to buy my hot chocolate (God bless Aryn hahaha) and since we get two together, we get a two dollar discount. sweet.
spontaneously all the sudden, Aryn shouts "LET'S GO TO THE MUSEUM".
so we do.

laughing at the cashier lady who is laughing at us // book stores are fun |
when we get to the museum, we learn that admission is three dollars per person,
BUT the old man running the place is so excited to have company that he stammers some lie about free admission for the day. so amazingly nice.
"we had five whole people come in last week!" he says proudly.
the museum is 100 years old and used to be an old courthouse. there is a big, open room that used to be a courtroom that has a piano in the corner. an open room with a piano? umm hello. I couldn't resit.
I sat down and started playing one of my songs.
when I finished, I heard clapping and turned around to see the old man who states, "that's the best music this place has heard in years". that comment had me smiling for the rest of the day.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON:
we pick up all the boys without planning to...and they all happen to not be busy. sweet.
we spend an hour driving around town with all the windows down playing "the scream game". don't ask. all you need to know is that it's hilarious.
oh! and guess who we saw while driving around town? MAX. THE DOG. IN THE SAME CAR WITH HIS HEAD OUT THE WINDOW. talk about fate!!??
somewhere in here we buy 25 cent ice cream.
then we drive to "our park" and the boys fly away on their long boards while Aryn, Serena and I go on a walk, arm in arm.
while on our walk, we run into an older lady and introduce ourselves. after a while she looks at us and says "I just want you to know that I don't give compliments lightly, but you are all such beautiful girls." she also told us that she thought all of our names were very pretty and told us to always remember to go outside, whatever we're doing. it was so nice.
after a while, it was time for me to go home,
but it's okay.
our weekends together put a smile on my face that won't go away for days.
I used to wonder why it all fell together like a puzzle.
Tonight, I found this quote:
"Think excitement, talk excitement, act out excitement, and you are bound to become an excited person. You can think, talk and act yourself into dullness or into monotony or into unhappiness. By the same process you can build up inspiration, excitement and surging depth of joy."
-Norman Vincent Peale
Aryn, Serena and I all want the same things from life: to be excited, to be inspired and to feel joy.
We want to fuel our spirits and our minds.
We want to have a strong relationship with God and with each other.
Together, we are like this invincible force of good intentions. Whatever souls are made of, I'm convinced ours are made of the same thing. My wish is that everyone in the world has a relationship that fills their life with this much love and laughter.
If you don't have someone who makes your soul feel so free and happy all at once, I encourage you to keep seeking until you find it.
It's worth it.
xoxo
